About Amy Zellmer
I have been a photographer since the age of 5. As a child my parents had to ration my rolls of film to one per week (yes, actual film that you had to bring to the store to develop!) or I would have blown thru rolls of it every day! There was something so magical about taking that roll to Walgreens and waiting days for it to come back and see the beauty that I had created! I loved taking photos and knew at a very young age that that is what I wanted to do as an adult. My passion carried me through high school and college where I worked on the school yearbook and newspaper.
In 1996 I started my photography business, Custom Creations Photography. Like many, I began as a wedding photographer working out of my home. In 2003 I opened a storefront studio in downtown Shakopee, and also became active in organizations such as PPA, MNPPA, TCPPA, and WPPI. My love for photography has never lessened over the years, however, I learned early on I had to charge adequately or I would literally have to live in my van down by the river (insert Chris Farley voice here)! Photography is my passion AND my business, and there is a definite line that has to be crossed in order to shed old beliefs and become successful. I now have a gorgeous studio, an amazing staff, a supportive community of photographer friends, and plenty of FREE TIME to live the lifestyle I choose!!
I began educating photographers in 2007 and quickly learned that my passion was teaching others. I started My Photo Biz Coach in 2010 to work 1:1 mentoring other photographers. I began to see that what I was teaching was applicable to MANY creative businesses and rebranded in 2014 to My Creative Biz Coach.
I want to work with Creative Entrepreneurs who are ready to work through the issues that are holding them back and keeping them stuck. We ALL deserve as much success as we aspire to have. I can help you get there!!

Amy served as President of the Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association in 2008 and received her Photographic Craftsman Degree from the PPA in 2009. She was awarded 2nd Place Wedding Photographer of the year in 2008 and 2010, and has received numerous other awards for her images and album designs.
